The Dietary Preferences of the Black Throat Monitor

Juveniles Enjoy: Crickets, Meal worms, The Occasional Pre-Killed Pinky Mice, and it is always good to dust your food with minerals and nutrients for your lizard.


Adults Enjoy:  Mice, rats, snakes, freshwater mollusks, small birds, large roaches, crustaceans  fish, eggs(Snake Egg, Egg in a bowl, Boiled Chicken Eggs,Or Whole Chicken Eggs), baby chicks, raw or cooked ground turkey, raw or cooked beef heart.

How Often Should I Feed My Monitor?

Juveniles: Feed these fellas everyday. If you are feeding them insects, you should dust them with minerals(: 


Adults: Feed them every other day to insure they have time to digest the meal.

What Do I Feed My Monitor if He/She Is Hungry, But I Am Out of His/Her Normal Food?

Dog food, or cat food. Just know, DON'T do it all the time, it is unhealthy. But, once in a month, it won't do a bit of harm.
